ms access - "Unrecognized database format" and "Inconsistent State" format on back end of a split database -

so have of small access database on network drive 10-15 users on front ends @ 1 time. today users got "unrecognized database format" error.

when checked out found "inconsistent state" error. luckily had recent backup , windows able restore anyway.

the other trouble i've had fe, needed decomplile , recompile.

in research looked people experiencing error not splitting database.

is there need be?
