Is this an excessive number of active sessions on a ColdFusion server? -

i have been having coldfusion (10) stability issues on 1 of servers. basic server details follows:

2.6ghz dual processor, 6gb ram, windows server 2008 r2

the hosting company manage server have said there many active sessions on server , cause of issue.

i have been monitoring sessions on server , @ peak times there may 1500-2000 active sessions taking 1.5-2mb of memory in total. sessions stored in memory , part these real user sessions run code detect bots , issue them short sessions.

given above information seem unreasonable number of active sessions , session memory usage? advice appreciated, please let me know if more information helpful.
