multithreading - Jmeter - 22000 Concurrent threads - is it scalable? -

friends,

i went through differnt links in , internet regarding max no of threads can run in jmeter , of answers - depends on hardware.

but question is, provided hardware configuration can handle 22,000 threads. jmeter capable of running load test 22,000 threads ?

what maximum number of threads has used in past using jmeter.

so far, in 1 of link, few people have told tested till 150 threads. else tried more ?

update1

as per link, jmeter used 300 threads. https://loadfocus.com/blog/2013/08/17/how-many-threads-or-concurrent-users-can-i-run-in-parallel-with-apache-jmeter-from-my-machine/

update 2

many links in (including 1 mentioned in comment) says beyond 300, should try other tools , outdated.

the link show in update outdated , can see it's loadfocus proposes concurrent approach it's not neutral :-).

you can read answer looking for:

it highly depends on machine , test plan , load test profile have experiences run 3000 threads on 8vcpu / 8gb ram machine , there have been benchmarks showing m2.xlarge aws instance sustain 10000 threads.

so 1000 threads reachable.
