i wanted install third-party android distribution on lg operating system. optimus l7 has been lagging since day 1 , i've been waiting eagerly warranty expire.
people recommend cm (cyanogenmod) that's i'm aiming at. problem all-mighty google (oh, irony!) provides information on ways of replacing vendor os i'm getting lost. methods require connection pc, sd card, people booting recovery or using installers.
even cyanogenmod's official wiki has 2 articles:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/build_for_p700
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/install_cm_for_p700 !
what difference building , installing, recovery use, do manually or use installer (if supports model) , risks? not willing dive unprepared , brick phone or something. reason i'm trying can't buy new one, , don't want mess 1 have.
well first of not right place ask. talking custom roms. cyanogenmod 1 of biggest distributions android roms. can see this:
your factory phone , software on stable; gets or totally not upgraded. factories build same os cyanogenmod does: android. android open source can change want.
that's why build custom roms: can run on android device , can change our needs. want use rom instead of building one. that's why need install (also known flash) custom rom using custom recovery. suggest flash gapps package after flashing rom. usefull if still want use google play store , stuff.
however carefull! if playing phone, there risk of bricking it. playing software not smart without proper knowledge. suggest find more info on xda-developers. think forum more programming questions.
happy flashing!
