Clicking visualization properties does nothing - spotfire -

i've uploaded data (csv) spotfire desktop client.

the data loads in fine , can switch visualization type.

however won't let me change visualization properties. when click button nothing happens.

i've tried different datasets , rebooting spotfire , same thing happens.
