i need in place upgrade of sql server 2012 express standard without losing data. possible? simple running setup standard version? tia

yes possible , simple :

• first have launch "installation center sql server" app.
• secondly, go panel "maintenance"
• third click on "upgrade edition"
• and follow steps.
